Some Great Ideas for Tribal Activities

One of the best things about the Adventure Guides and Blazers program are the endless opportunities that exist to have fun. Our Nation Chief has asked the Nation to provide ideas for activities that tribes can set up relatively easily, and that have a low cost feature. Below is a compiled list of ideas that tribes can take advantage of in order to make the program as diverse and exciting as it can be. IDEAS FOR TRIBAL FUN

A New Tradition is Born! 

As everyone knows our Winter Camp has not only changed venues but we introduced a new tradition. Instead of tribal sleds each tribe built their own tribal totem pole. At this Winter's campout at Camp Speers-Eljabar, 138 dads and sons held a "Parade of the Totems" to a huge outdoor ampitheater where the totems were judged and summarily offered up to the Great Spirit in a fire that temporarily warmed the arctic air. Feedback on this new tradition has been very positive and we look forward to many years to come where each tribe can express their creativity through their totem poles.
